BIOGRAPHY





The DRASTIC space-ship started its journey through the interstellar spaces in 1995, when Chris Buchman recorded his first demo-tape, "Creator of Feelings". This little piece of melancholic art was selected as "best demo" by Metal Hammer, Metal Shock and Flash on planet earth, and reached the top-ten on Mars e Saturn. The Plutonians are looking forward to listening to these five extremely emotional songs, but some problems, due to the well-known slowness of the italian postal service, are making it difficult to send the cassette there before the new millenium.. Anyway, in 1996, an intergalactic label (Beyond... Prod) started the distribution of the demo-tape in the cosmic underground. Chris had thousands of deal-proposal, but having been drugged and tortured by Beyond... Prod, "spontaneously" decided to sign a contract with this label...Reduced to slavery, Chris worked hard on the new stuff for more than two years and finally, in 1998 gave to the (cosmic) light his debut full-length de-luxe digipack CD titled "Thieves of Kisses". 8 new songs of pure cosmoheroic melancholia: unearthly female vocals, romantic keyboards and powerful guitar riffing will take you into another dimension! Lyrics are written in english, italian & polish: dark introspective poetry with an avantgarde touch..... Drastic started this project with the idea of a total experience: an uncompromised voyage through or deepest feelings and strongest emotions, flying on the chanted wings of art, among dying planets and shining supernovas, but above all, over mediocrity and the trends of the 20th century. Now, after five years of waiting, Drastic's (now DRASTIQUE) second album is finally ready! There is a new line-up: Mahavira (ex Ensoph) and Fay (female vocalist) joined Chris in his project. "Pleasureligion", this is the title of the album, will be deeply emotional and majestic, with original arrangements and unexpected sonic solutions. If you need some bands to be referred to, you can name Limbonic Art, Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania and Cradle of Filth. This is the track list: 5enses, The Succubus, Legacy of Fascination, Perfect Nothing, Maria Magdalena (a wired cover version of Sandra's hit of the 80's), Immortal Beloved, Voyage Dans La Femme. "Pleasureligion" is a concept album (as it happened for the previous one, "Thieves of Kisses") focused on "the search for pleasure as a religion", led by the sacred fire of such poets as D.Alighieri, W.Blake, S.T.Coleridge, J.Keats and P.B.Shelley. The first printrun of 1000 copies is available in an elegant digipak version."
